Even as rain-battered Chennai is coming to terms with the devastating flood that left many dead and scores injured, celebrities from all over India are scripting a new chapter in philanthropy. Leading from the front is superstar Rajinikanth, who donated Rs 10 crore to the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund on Tuesday, according to a report in The Times of India. This after he was severely criticised by his fans for contributing a meagre Rs 10 lakh to help the flood victims.
